Dick Sneary, President Emeritus
of ASAI
An alumnus of the University of Kansas and a registered Architect
in the states of Kansas and Missouri, Dick Sneary has been working
as an architectural illustrator for more than 30 years. He practiced
Architecture from 1965 through 1985. Beginning in 1975 he began teaching,
first at Kansas City Junior College in their pre-Architecture program,
and then from 1977 through 1985 he joined the faculty of the School
of Architecture at the University of Kansas. During that time he continued
to practice architecture and illustration on his own, and shared in
teaching illustration workshops at North Dakota State University,
Oklahoma State University, Kansas State University, as well as the
University of Kansas. Since 1985 he has been a full-time illustrator.
His work has been published in numerous books. He is a President Emeritus
of the American Society of Architectural Illustrators (2000), and
his work has been selected for 14 of the organization’s annual
juried Architecture in Perspective exhibits, winning the Jack O. Hedrich
Juror’s Award in 1993, and the Formal Category Award in 1997.
Presently, Dick has his own firm practicing architectural illustration.
He has provided services to many of the leading architectural firms

Susan Lynn
Susan Lynn graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor
of Fine Arts degree in 1985. She began working for Dick Sneary in
1988, primarily assisting with painting his award-winning architectural
illustrations in watercolor. In recent years, her career has shifted
toward fine art, exhibiting her watercolor landscapes of the West
and Midwest in numerous art fairs, juried exhibits, and art galleries.
Susan is currently represented by the Phoenix Gallery in Topeka, Kansas,
the Red Raven Gallery in Big Sky, Montana, and the Rice Gallery in
