Nuh, nuh, nuh, nuh, nuh, nuh, nooooo! I didn't get that impression at all. I did a bad job of giving advice you didn't ask for. Let me try again. Indifference and disdain are two different things. Lack of interest does not mean he doesn't support your professional growth. Maybe it only means he doesn't see your excitement over what you learned so quickly, especially if you surprised yourself. A drawing buddy is a good thing. I met students from lots of places and we stayed in touch. When you get religion about anything that has nothing to do with your relationship, won't impact it at all - seek like-minded professionals. Not all our needs are met by our inner circle. And there is nothing wrong with that! There is a lot very right about that. Would he be at all intertersting if he were exactly like you?

"Can I see yours???..." is another Mike-ism you will hear in the 2-week bootcamp. Many times, insecure campers dump on your work. When others are unimpressed with your work you can "out" them by asking to see what they do. Your fiance is nervous about your talent and potential success. SO, he acts indifferent. It doesn't mean he does not care about you. Stay you. The more you focus on developing your skills the more he will see it is not a threat to your relationship. He no doubt has gifts of his own, no? Honey, that's just men, God bless'em! Scrape together the money for the two-week thing and you can TA. I hope to meet you in December. I need to go see my Las Vegas work, so I'll be there no matter what.

Ask to see your fiance's drawing..............

Mike usually asks for TA's (via e-mail) for the two week boot camps. I replied. It's another chance to attend at the workshop (for free), and practice your skills. I wasn't paid, but was compensated in many other ways.
