San Jose Convention Center Expansion
With the opportunity to expand and re-position the McEnery Convention Center, the City of San Jose and the Redevelopment Agency stand poised to transform both the Center itself and the character and nature of the surrounding neighborhood, and add meaningfully to the city’s economic base. This opportunity was twofold: there is opportunity of site and opportunity of circumstance. The opportunity of site exists because the space is physically available for the expansion. The opportunity of circumstance exists because of the blend of public and private support for re-definng the venue and re-positioning it to be the Center of the Future.
